"Chips na Kuku fry" I also order the same since she insisted on paying. Why should I refuse just because of male pride? We are in the 21st century.
"So where did Sam take you since Thursday? Ata simu zangu haupick."
"His place." I had to contain my excitement lest she reads through me. Women are excellent mind readers and I cannot underestimate her.
I froze in my tracks
"For three days? Then Sam really likes you.""Why?"
"I never stayed there for more than a day." I almost forgot about my pledge to Susan. The waiter intervened to serve me first hence taking away the opportunity to fry Susan with her own fat.
"Na Susan." I froze in my tracks. I placed the piece of meat down and looked at her bespectacled face.
"I don't know. Haven't seen her since that day in Kipkelion." Her order arrived and the topic switched to other tpics like the forthcoming episode of waking up with you and the better half. With no time, our plates were empty and we had washed our hands.
Susan arrives in the hotel
"Lemme order some soda?""I'll take water instead." I forgot that my lovely Emma doesn't take sugary drinks. She was watching her weight. This time, the drink was on me.
"Chep, what if Sam moves on with another woman, like Susan or-"
"I don't give a fuck. He can do it even today." She snapped.
"Okay. Just an after thought." She held my hands before I could grab the soda.
"Thanks for being there for me." Before I could say anything, I saw the familiar stare of Susan as she heads straight for us.
