Then I heard her close her door, never to return.
On a first thought, I ignored it thinking it was one of her random admirers who had posted some lewd comment on her social media updates or someone mailed to her his ugly dick pic and she had gone to the cops to report that son of a bitch. Just today where I was told that she had travelled to Kakamega to confirm if the news was true.
Simon, our nosy caretaker confirmed that indeed the girl was shocked by the news that she left the plot to see her parents and she never came back that day.
"Rasta, ni kama uncle wake alikufa kwa hio ajali."
"Ndio maana she was screaming that loud?"
"Kabisa."
I began to wonder what will come out of her preparations for the KCSE exam. Will the death of her uncle affect her? Remember she had told me that she couldn't afford to fail this time round as her father would be disappointed in her.
"Life sio fair kabisa."
We switched to some other topic. I wanted to send her a condolence message but I didn't have her number. Besides, I wasn't sure if what Simon was saying was indeed true or just a figment of his cigarette-fuelled imagination.
I will have to confirm once she comes back.

Its' been long since I last saw Emma and Sam, now wife and husband in a long time now. Unlike Steve, Felix and Jay whom we interact on a daily basis, Sam and Emma were now living in Brooke after they got married in July.
So this weekend, Sam has invited me over to his home. I have to be there so that I can see how my engineer friend has fared on in marriage. I also want to see how my high school crush and ex-girlfriend is doing.
