She never came by my place. Not that I was expecting her to, but given the manner in which she was looking at me, I could feel that she was actually itching to know who Doris was and what our relationship was.
So I busied myself watching the Europa League matches on Star Times till midnight when I switched off the electronics. As I dropped into my bed, I smelt the sweet perfume of Doris that she had left on my bed.
Then I saw her black bra, damn!! This will ultimately give her an excuse to come by my room later on when she completes her papers. No problem given that she would have found a better partner that would stick with her for good or not.

Someone woke me up very early in the morning. On first thoughts, that could have been the landlord's agent collecting the month's rent. Jay, my boss back at the stall had promised to release all our dues today and I was on a good footing with the caretaker, Simon and his agents. The knocking persisted.
I got up and dressed up. Good thing I always had an emergency survival kit which had everything, from spare cash to spare clothes and medicine. So when I reached the door, I was surprised to see Shayla in her usual leso waiting for her turn to use the bathroom.
"Gai! Kumbe its you!"
"Ya."
"Umenistua kabisa. I thought ni Simon looking for his rent."
I rubbed my eyes and stifled a yawn. She didn't look particularly in a hurry to leave.
"Utaingia ama?"
"Hapana. Pole kwa jana. Buda alikam."
"Oh, haina shida. Ile siku utakuwa free utanicall tu." She chuckled gently,
"How will I call you yet sina number yako?"
I wanted to give her the number but I thought the better of it.
"Simon atakupea." Then the door to the bathroom opened. She sprinted fast towards it without looking back.
